BREAKING NEWS: Grocery store is going coinless

This is just in from our crack(ed) reporter Germaine:

A grocery store in San Diego announced to this investigative reporter yesterday afternoon that as of today, the store will not be accepting or using coins at all any more at check-out stations. Amounts between dollars will be rounded for cash transactions and balances will be shifted using the store's card. The store Ralphs, the largest subsidiary of Cincinnati-based Kroger, ventures on this great quest to get rid of pennies, nickels and whatnot in its ongoing efforts to reduce operating costs.

The checker who revealed this after an intense investigation, i.e., me blithering about fishing around in my pants for some darned useless pennies, said that she though there would probably be some confusion today. I responded that there there would probably be some riots today. She looked concerned. I grinned under my mask, but otherwise maintained my professional demeanor.

I will be returning sometime today to see how this great experiment is going. Think I'll bring my camera. This ought to be really good.

Now, back to you Snowflake. Carry on.
