Time to step away.

 Many who used to visit here regularly also would visit Kat's forum. Now she has opted to say goodbye.

Why? Disqus isn't what it used to be, and traffic has crawled to almost a stop.

I have been taking the last couple of months to contemplate what I want to do with this forum. I think it's time for me to step away as well.

Reasons are multiple. Mainly the loss of old friends, Susan and milo but others as well that, when I check their profiles, have been inactive for months, some for a year or two. Never heard why. Just stopped coming here or anywhere on Disqus.

Lack of enthusiasm and participation has been evident as well. That includes my lack of enthusiasm. I am NOT blaming anyone. I can't advertise this forum so newbies are rare. Regulars have either gone away or drop in and leave a comment or two - often, it seems, out of habit. Back n forth conversations don't happen much any more. 

I see the same thing happening to Germaine. He has a loyal following, as I do, but that loyal following is dwindling. At least with political discussions you can on occasion get into some heated arguments.

I want to really thank Bunny for doing most of the threads on here. 

In conclusion, I am NOT shutting this down. I will leave it to my existing few authors to carry the day if they choose. I will hover in the background as moderator to make sure no one takes advantage of my absence. 

ANYONE wanting to be an author that isn't already, just tag me, and I will walk you through the process.

I am NOT angry or frustrated, just sad. The old days of Disqus channels were fun. People have moved on, Disqus is inundated with ads and glitches. And yes, I still participate elsewhere, but not with a lot of enthusiasm there either. 

My life is full, maybe some of you have come to realize, as I have, that being behind a computer all day is not the way to spend the remaining years of your life. If I need to make a future update to keep you all informed of my whereabouts, I will do so, but I will otherwise be absent. 

If as a result this forum dies from lack of activity, then that is just how it was meant to be. Time for me to move on and wish the few friends still left on here health and happiness.
