Finding Some Good In The Things You Hate

Image
Bunny and Mrs. Bunny despise the hot weather.  Hate it with a passion.  But, when hanging the laundry out to dry, it is done very quickly.  Saves time and money.  Begrudgingly admit something good comes from it. Are there any good things you can find in the things you hate? J. P. Bunny

Release The Curmudgeon!

Image
Tuesday at a nifty mountaintop shrine.  Way out in the middle of nowhere, but popular.  Wanted to get a photo of some of the things there, but always needing to wait an eternity for the young fools taking photos of themselves, in front of what others want to see.  Striking poses, making peace signs…pretending they are at some magazines photo shoot. Bunny can see taking a picture to prove you were at the place, but why are people constantly pointing the camera at themselves, with the scenery in the background?  Are people incapable of knowing they were someplace, if they aren’t in the picture?  Mega self absorption? Well, that is Bunny’s rant.  Let your curmudgeon loose. J. P. Bunny

Things That Would Confuse Your Younger Self

Image
Think about what is normal now, but would confuse the hell out of your younger self.  “Can I borrow your phone to take a picture?”  You would think that person a loony. Also, anything that younger people say that confuse you? J. P. Bunny

Maxxing is important

Brain Droppings

Back to lighter topics. Bunny went to clean the park this morning.  Had a nasty headache.  As he was talking to himself and saying what a nasty headache, came the thought, does anyone ever say they have a good headache?   Good toothache? Silly?  Yes.  But, just things running through Bunny’s warped mind. Any such weird thoughts for you? J. P. Bunny

Time to step away.

Many who used to visit here regularly also would visit Kat's forum. Now she has opted to say goodbye. Why? Disqus isn't what it used to be, and traffic has crawled to almost a stop. https://countrykatnc.blogspot.com/2026/05/its-finally-friday-and-final-thread.html I have been taking the last couple of months to contemplate what I want to do with this forum. I think it's time for me to step away as well. Reasons are multiple. Mainly the loss of old friends, Susan and milo but others as well that, when I check their profiles, have been inactive for months, some for a year or two. Never heard why. Just stopped coming here or anywhere on Disqus. Lack of enthusiasm and participation has been evident as well. That includes my lack of enthusiasm. I am NOT blaming anyone. I can't advertise this forum so newbies are rare. Regulars have either gone away or drop in and leave a comment or two - often, it seems, out of habit. Back n forth conversations don't happen much any mor...

Comedians

Comedians.  Solo.  Duo.  Cerebral.  Slapstick.  Famous and not so famous.  Which ones make you laugh?  Hudson and Landry the lesser known ones Bunny enjoys. J. P. Bunny

Jackie & Shadow update

Welp, ladies 'n germs, the little 'uns are getting big. One or two fish, parts of 'em actually, are always in the nest. Heads gone but the body with the protein is intact. It is so soothing to see nature doing its thing. Some things are still right in the world. https://youtu.be/B4-L2nfGcuE

Fictional Items You Would Like To Have

Image
From TV and the movies.  Fictional items you would like to have.  The car from Knight Rider?  Harry Potter’s invisibility cloak?   Bunny would like the stopwatch from the Twilight Zone.  If you click it, time stops, except for you. What do you want? J. P. Bunny

Books of an era.

Image
NOT much action on here lately and of course, SNOWY has been absent. I really hope we can have some convo over the following topic because it has been really bringing back memories for me. Here goes: Background: When in my teens and early adulthood I was really into books that spoke to my generation. Some are still popular, some were a fad. Luckily, my highschool was very progressive for the times (60s, 70s), and allowed us students to read just about any material provided two things: That the books we read had SOME social commentary, and we could write about what attracted us, or repelled us. Lately I was on the hunt for a book titled  A Separate Peace by John Knowles  (published 1959) Found a copy on a dusty bookshelf in a 2nd hand book store. Of course books with a social message didn't have to be written in the 60s or 70s, as long as they stimulated our minds and made us think about conditions outside of our personal experience. Of course everyone is pretty much fami...

Things You Got, And Things You Didn’t

Image
In school, Bunny never got geometry, other than the area of a simple object.   “Prove this is a triangle.”  “It has three sides.”  “Prove it.”  Screw that.    Math fine, until you left the numbers behind, and went with letters.  Lost at sea. English, history, art, music, no problem for Bunny. What about you?  This can also be life now. J. P. Bunny
