The Real Reason for Identity Politics

Posted by Jennifer A. Nolan, borrowing from larrymotuz and Just Primal Soup(aka Susan)

larrymotuzI personally think that every declaration of human rights must end with:

IT IS THE DUTY OF ALL THOSE CLAIMING THESE RIGHTS TO UPHOLD THEM FOR ALL OTHER PERSONS.

FOR ALL SUCH RIGHTS WILL VANISH OTHERWISE.

Just Primal Soup (aka Susan): Makes me think of:

“Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere.”

and

“Pay it forward.”

larrymotuz: Yes!

Yet we must remember that 'paying it forward' occurs because someone, somewhere had a compassion borne of empathy for the situation of another, and, because of this, started the ball rolling.

In short, sometime we must 'pay forward' what we have not yet received. That calls for our sowing seeds of kindness towards others to enjoy the harvest which comes from those seeds we plant.
