Some heavy thinking on the agenda for today…
Sophia Sadek’s question:
Let's talk about historical "revision" or deeper historical understanding. Tsuyoshi Hasegawa gave us a deeper understanding of Japan's surrender at the end of WW II with his amazing "Racing the Enemy." He uncovered the limited effect that strategic bombing played in the endgame, and the way that the Soviet Invasion of Manchukuo precipitated a loss of face for the Japanese army. He also detailed various Japanese attempts to negotiate a surrender through the Soviet Union and the reasons they fell on deaf ears.

Question: Do you have any recommendations for improved historical analysis to share?
So, what do you think?
Thanks for posting and favoriting.
