How do you define……

Love?

Granted, blanket definitions are not easy because there are many variations on words.  The word “love” is a good example because it can mean different things in different contexts.  You got your:

  • Being in love
  • Love of things, like food, clothing, activities, etc.
  • Hate-love, as in love gone awry
  • Innate love, as in mother and child

and you’d probably define them all a little differently.  But let’s hone in on “love toward another person.”  That should help narrow your definition down.  So, your main task here is:

Define the concept of love in a single sentence as it relates to another person.  No ifs, ands or buts.  Just a hard overarching universal definition.  Can you do it?

Bonus questions, if you’re up for them:

  • Is love testable?  If yes, how?
  • Is love provable?  If yes, how?
  • Is love quantifiable?
  • Is love a feeling?
  • Is love an action?
  • Is love a choice?
  • Is love real?
  • How do these bonus questions stack up against your hard definition?
