Weird Laws That Rule Your Life
Ever heard of Sturgeon's Law? It was first pronounced at a World Science Fiction Convention, where Theodore Sturgeon was Guest of Honor. In his speech, he began with the shocker, "Ninety per cent of science fiction is crap." As the audience goggled, he continued, more amiably, "Ninety per cent of everything is crap." And ever since,
Then there's Godwin's Law: "As an online discussion grows longer (regardless of topic or scope), the probability of a comparison to Nazis or Adolf Hitler approaches 1."
And Skitt's Law: "Any post correcting an error in another post will contain at least one error itself."
Hanlon's Law is one of my favorites: "Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."
Tell us your favorite "laws!" We'll even take mere suggestions. We're easy that way.
