The Fabulous Five

Yesterday, RachelMKennedy mentioned an old game: who are five people living or dead you want to have a conversation with?  Let's play!  Here are my five.

First, Thomas Pynchon.  Nobody knows what he looks like.  Nobody knows where he lives.  He is a writer so private that J.D. Salinger looks like an extroverted publicity hound by comparison.

Second, Mark Twain.  Just an hour with Twain would provide enough yarn-spinning and verbal delight to last a lifetime, I'm sure.

Third, Ben Franklin.  Not just a founder but a real raconteur, a thinker, a talker, an experience that still resonates through the ages.

Fourth, Ray Davies.  I've loved the music of the Kinks for five decades.

And fifth, of course, ELVIS!

(Resist temptation?  Why?  That's not what temptation's for!)

Your turn!
