Rep. Deb Butler (D) leads a chorus of Democrat voices protesting an unexpected vote in the NC House to override Gov. Roy Cooper's veto of the budget. In a surprise move Wednesday morning, N.C. House of Representatives voted to override Gov. Roy Cooper’s veto of the state budget with just over half of the 120 members present to vote.
Democrats in the chamber objected to the bill being brought up, saying they were told there would be no votes during the 8:30 a.m. session and that it was just a formality so work could begin. Rep. Jason Saine, a Lincolnton Republican, made the motion to reconsider the state budget and chaos in the chamber quickly ensued.
House Speaker Tim Moore, a Kings Mountain Republican, said that announcement was not made and even asked the House Clerk to back him up. That prompted an outburst from Rep. Deb Butler, D-New Hanover.“This is a travesty of the process and you know it,” Butler said when the vote was called, noting that Democratic leadership was not present. “We will not yield.”

Just stopped coming here or anywhere on Disqus. Lack of enthusiasm and participation has been evident as well. That includes my lack of enthusiasm. I am NOT blaming anyone. I can't advertise this forum so newbies are rare. Regulars have either gone away or drop in and leave a comment or two - often, it seems, out of habit. Back n forth conversations don't happen much any mor...
Maybe the wise and sagacious people on this forum might be able to speculate on the answer. If a vampire bites a zombie, does the zombie become a vampire or the vampire become a zombie? Then we have one of them time paradox questions: If you take an object back in time and leave it there, where did it originally come from? AND one more just for the fun of it.......... If we’re all unique, doesn’t that make being unique not unique?
