Must EVERYTHING be political?

We live in a divided country.  Never before in my life has everything, every nitpicking, gutnoodling, furshlugginering thing been so much about politics.  Got an opinion on soup?  Why, that's a damn liberal soup, you libtard!  Got some ideas on cars?  Damn you, only right-wing apes like that car!

The Pulitzers were awarded the other day.  Seemed like "The 1619 Project" barely got the prize before right-wingers (and apologists for slavery) were furiously denouncing it as "fiction" and "lies."  Well, heaven forbid anyone tell the story from the viewpoint of the enslaved for the first time in several hundred years!

My old friend Neil Gaiman broke up with his wife, the similarly famous Amanda Palmer.  Instantly, everyone's taking sides and attributing it to everything from white privilege to sheltering in place.  Couldn't be that we don't know why they broke up and that it's none of our business.

Well, I'm here to take a stand.  I like ...grits!  Yes, you heard me!  I double-dog dare anyone to find a political stance in that!

Counting down, ten, nine, eight...
