Ripples of Hope...

I love inspirational speech, where some brave idealistic soul seeks to lift our collective spirits and remind us that we do have some positive potential as a species; that we are not hopeless.  And where would we be without that kind of emotional encouragement?  Wallowing away in the mud of negativity, that's where.

Mud, in its various forms (hate, greed, fear, etc.), seems to have an affinity for us, as we innately seem to have for it.  We can feed each other on "void of nutrition" mud, and ironically feel the stronger for it.  But, in truth, there’s not much nutritional value in mud.

So, let’s all reach for some inspiration today.  Please post one of your favorite quotes.  Here’s one of mine:

“Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring those ripples build a current which can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance.”

― Robert F. Kennedy
“Ripples of Hope” speech in South Africa, 1966
