Is this the end???


Is this the end my friends?

Oh my goodness.....what else is in store. The world we know just keeps going down and down. What is happening and why?

When I first joined Disqus, apart from the flagging trolls...which were dealt with by making the flags non anonymous...and they need to do the same with the downvoting trolls imo....I can't think of tech problems which spring to mind. Then Zeta took over. Channel creation disappeared first, then we all knew the channels would be next...and were proved right. Before that happened however, there were problems with downvote bots, threads disappeard....folks lost all their upvotes. 

Since the channel closures, there has been one thing after another, getting logged out of blogs, unable to post, votes falling by the minute and now threads showing zero comments.

Instead of putting these things right....what do they spend time on?......makng the downvote feature tally visible again.....oh my goodness....from reading the Disqus Blog....people want rid of this 'feature' altogether or at least make it non anonymous. Perhaps we need to start looking for alternatives to Disqus.......do you think it has had its day?

Time to step away.

 Many who used to visit here regularly also would visit Kat's forum. Now she has opted to say goodbye. Why? Disqus isn't what it used to be, and traffic has crawled to almost a stop. https://countrykatnc.blogspot.com/2026/05/its-finally-friday-and-final-thread.html I have been taking the last couple of months to contemplate what I want to do with this forum. I think it's time for me to step away as well. Reasons are multiple. Mainly the loss of old friends, Susan and milo but others as well that, when I check their profiles, have been inactive for months, some for a year or two. Never heard why. Just stopped coming here or anywhere on Disqus. Lack of enthusiasm and participation has been evident as well. That includes my lack of enthusiasm. I am NOT blaming anyone. I can't advertise this forum so newbies are rare. Regulars have either gone away or drop in and leave a comment or two - often, it seems, out of habit. Back n forth conversations don't happen much any mor...
