And now for something completely different...

A lot of my posts are political. And while I love the topic and hate the topic (life is odd that way) it's important to me that we also look at other parts of life. I saw a story posted here about scottish spaceports, and it got me thinking:

What are some things you've seen or heard lately which really stand out that are NOT politics related?

I've read, for instance, that recently they mapped the nervous system of the Earthworm and set it online for anyone to use in neurotech experiments. One person took that scan, duplicated the process, and set a real worm and the "worm," with impulses updated in real time, to learn how to drive an RC car. At first the car just jerked around a bit, and then started moving back and forth, feeding back impacts etc to the original worm. Both the worm and the car would move, but after a while, sometimes only the worm and sometimes only the car would move, proving that the worm was learning how to activate the impulses of the scan without activating its own muscle responses.

Which begs the question of where the consciousness of the worm was at the moment: in the worm or in the car?

Cool things, at least in my opinion.

Got any more to share?
