Speculating…

A few days ago, we asked everyone to take a trip back through time. (Link.) Today, I’m asking you to take a trip into the future. To be specific, fast forward to the date Nov 5, 2024, National Election Day in the United States.

It's true that no one can know for certain what the future holds.  Even Annie can’t prove conclusively that “the sun will come out tomorrow.” 🎶 But… 

Assuming Trump manages to beat all the pending legal charges against him, consider this scenario:

What happens if DJT loses the presidential election in 2024? What does he do?

  • False premise.  He will be in jail by that date
  • He repeats/recreates the events of Nov 3 2020.  (It's deja vu all over again)
  • He accepts the results and fades back into the woodwork
  • Impossible that he loses. He and his cohorts will have rigged the election 
  • He flees the country in humiliation
  • He commits suicide because he can’t take losing… again
  • [Other]

How do you see a 2024 DJT presidential loss panning out?  Do any of these outcomes seem plausible to you?  Speculate.

Philosophical Question #14 – Lifestyle Choices

Here is an interesting question in my list of philosophical questions: 1.) Should governments have penalties for those who live unhealthy lifestyles? A list of unhealthy lifestyles would include things like smoking, drinking, illegal drugs, prostitution, and other “vice” type activities. I guess the “government penalties” would be referring to monetary punishments, withholding medical treatments (insurance companies would love that), possibly imposing/regulating very high (exorbitant) prices on things considered unhealthy in order to cut down on their use, and other possibilities. 2.) Or, would you say that living an unhealthy lifestyle, likely resulting in a LOT of eventual personal pain and suffering, should be punishment enough for unhealthy lifestyles? When people make bad choices in life, often in their youth where ignorance and immediate gratification takes them over,  3.)
