Another mass school shooting

Is there ANY point in posting a thread about this? WE KNOW nothing will change. This is now the price we are "willing to pay" to live in a country where we have a "right" to own firearms.

In fact, listening to Fox yesterday, the Right have dropped the phrase "thoughts and prayers" and have a new tactic:

They are now claiming that the Left and the MSM are using every mass shooting to promote anti-gun, to take away YOUR guns, to restrict firearms, to take away YOUR 2nd amendment rights.

The irony: THEY are using the tragedy of mass shootings to further their pro-gun agenda and to raise the ire of gun owners by claiming (falsely) that the Left are coming to take your guns away.

Is there any point, because clearly THEY aren't listening or don't care, in pointing out the obvious?

Such as:

America’s unique gun violence problem, explained in 16 maps and charts

In the developed world, these levels of gun violence are a uniquely American problem. Here’s why.

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2017/10/2/16399418/fedex-indianapolis-mass-shooting-gun-violence-statistics-charts

Post that link on ANY rightwing or conservative forum, the inhabitants won't only NOT read it, they will ridicule it without having read it. They want NO discussion about sensible gun legislation.

In fact, it is going to only get worse folks, consider:

Support For Stricter Gun Laws Drops Under 50%, Poll Finds — Lowest Rate In 16 Years

Confronted with mass shootings, Texas Republicans have repeatedly loosened gun laws

Yet there are ways of reducing gun deaths (though, they will never be eliminated). The Right will ask "How does ANY gun law prevent ANY mass shooting?" Sounds like a good question, doesn't it?

Yet:

Report: States With Strong Laws See Less Gun Violence

The state that performed the worst in the rankings was Mississippi. The southern state has the weakest gun laws in the country, scoring just three points out of 100. It also has the highest rate of gun fatalities, with 28.6 deaths per 100,000 residents. Following Mississippi were IdahoMontanaArkansas, and South Dakota. None of the bottom five states scored above 5.5 points for their safety measures and they were all at or above the national average for gun deaths.

So, what can you and I do about this? We are just the little guy. Voter suppression, Gerrymandering, Democratic voter indifference and lack of passion means continual wins for the Party that is pro-gun.

WILL THE ABOLITION OF WOMEN'S RIGHTS TO ABORTION AND RECENT MASS SHOOTINGS FINALLY WAKE UP THE MASSES? WILL THEY?
