End of an Era

End of a smartphone era as

 BlackBerry phones reach the

 end of the line

BlackBerry phones running BlackBerry 7.1 and BlackBerry 10 will cease to function reliably from January 4, 2022.

Though not unexpected, the end of BlackBerry software and services for these devices marks the end of an era in smartphones. The shutdown means the likely small group of people who still use these BlackBerry devices won't be able to access data, make phone calls or send SMS. BlackBerry Link, BlackBerry Desktop Manager, and BlackBerry Blend will have limited functionality after the date.

GONE LIKE THE EDSEL and OLDSMOBILE 😢

GONE LIKE COMPAQ and HOWARD JOHNSON'S 😕

Will you miss your Blackberry like you missed eating at Howard Johnson's or driving your Edsel or Olds, or computing with your Compaq?

What I miss the most and lament no longer having:

For 117 years, F.W. Woolworth was one of America’s most iconic retail stores. The five-and-dime opened in 1879 in Utica, New York, and eventually grew into an empire that spanned 21 states and even reached to Canada, Great Britain, and Germany. In its later years, though, Woolworth's struggled to stay relevant as shopping malls and other chain stores grew in popularity. In 1997, the company closed its doors for good.

Ah, the good ole days, gone forever. What brands have YOU missed?
