A Divorced Man

 Some guy I knew thought he had a very happy marriage, then his wife divorced him.

Since then, he has blamed his wife for the divorce, and all those who supporter her or believed her reasons.

Since then, he hasn't been able to let it go, he spends hours every day talking about his horrible wife, how she was in the wrong, that he doesn't understand the people who take her side.

This obsession continues and has been  going on for nearly a year, and in fact, his new tact is that on a given date, she will relent and come back into his life.

And some of HIS friends have begun investigating her, to see if there was some nefarious reason why she divorced him, maybe she was "cheating" on him.

Wouldn't you feel sorry for someone like this? I would. Imagine never ever being able to let go and move on, to be living totally in the past and finding blame for the divorce with anyone but himself.


Sad, ain't it?

Philosophical Question #14 – Lifestyle Choices

Here is an interesting question in my list of philosophical questions: 1.) Should governments have penalties for those who live unhealthy lifestyles? A list of unhealthy lifestyles would include things like smoking, drinking, illegal drugs, prostitution, and other “vice” type activities. I guess the “government penalties” would be referring to monetary punishments, withholding medical treatments (insurance companies would love that), possibly imposing/regulating very high (exorbitant) prices on things considered unhealthy in order to cut down on their use, and other possibilities. 2.) Or, would you say that living an unhealthy lifestyle, likely resulting in a LOT of eventual personal pain and suffering, should be punishment enough for unhealthy lifestyles? When people make bad choices in life, often in their youth where ignorance and immediate gratification takes them over,  3.)
