It's getting better all the time

 I've got to admit it's getting better (Better)

A little better all the time (It can't get no worse)
I have to admit it's getting better (Better)

WE keep hearing how it's getting worse. Abortion rights being reversed. A capitol that was stormed. The rise of Nationalism. Not to mention Trumpism.

An attempt to censor books. Attacks on LGBTQ and Drag Queens.

BUT................ isn't it really getting better? Despite the negativity?

Women and men can vote now (despite attempts to restrict them)

Gay marriage is more widely accepted. Legal weed is becoming more popular. In most places outside of redneck country, it is not uncommon to see black n white kids playing together, Muslim kids attending the same schools as non-Muslims. 

We see violent protests unfortunately over the Gaza war, but over all crime is.........................are you ready for this?........................ DOWN!

I have maintained that despite the rise of Nationalism, the US is becoming MORE progressive. It is just not so obvious because the media likes to paint a bleak picture.

However:

A little better all the time (It can't get no worse)

THAT is how some people see it.

Philosophical Question #14 – Lifestyle Choices

Here is an interesting question in my list of philosophical questions: 1.) Should governments have penalties for those who live unhealthy lifestyles? A list of unhealthy lifestyles would include things like smoking, drinking, illegal drugs, prostitution, and other “vice” type activities. I guess the “government penalties” would be referring to monetary punishments, withholding medical treatments (insurance companies would love that), possibly imposing/regulating very high (exorbitant) prices on things considered unhealthy in order to cut down on their use, and other possibilities. 2.) Or, would you say that living an unhealthy lifestyle, likely resulting in a LOT of eventual personal pain and suffering, should be punishment enough for unhealthy lifestyles? When people make bad choices in life, often in their youth where ignorance and immediate gratification takes them over,  3.)
