About those two cases of stolen secret documents

Welp, ladies and germs, we've got two cases of stolen docs being tossed around like hot taters. One case is sort of getting prosecuted (Aileen Cannon is a pro-Trump Trump judge) and the other won't be. According to the one being prosecuted, 'taint fair!! DJT wants the case against him dropped. He claims he cooperated and Biden didn't. PolitiFact summarizes it like this:


Hot pants Don is outraged about the unfairness of it all, especially since he cooperated a lot more than Joe did. PolitiFact commentates:

  • President Joe Biden’s lawyers immediately notified federal officials when they found documents, and Biden also consented to searches of his homes and offices. Biden sat for a five-hour interview with the special counsel.

  • Trump refused to turn over documents and enlisted others’ help to destroy or hide evidence, an indictment stated. 

Robert Hur, the special counsel who investigated Biden, summarized Trump’s lack of cooperation in a report about Biden’s case.

"Most notably, after being given multiple chances to return classified documents and avoid prosecution, Mr. Trump allegedly did the opposite," Hur wrote. "According to the indictment, he not only refused to return the documents for many months, but he also obstructed justice by enlisting others to destroy evidence and then to lie about it. In contrast, Mr. Biden turned in classified documents to the National Archives and the Department of Justice, consented to the search of multiple locations including his homes, sat for a voluntary interview and in other ways cooperated with the investigation."

One can only wonder why Trump’s spokesperson did not respond to PolitiFact for this fact-check. It would have been a wonderful opportunity to set the record straight. Fortunately for DJT, this awful PolitiFact calumny won't faze his supporters one iota. Darned fact checkers . . . . grumble, grumble . . . . .

Philosophical Question #14 – Lifestyle Choices

Here is an interesting question in my list of philosophical questions: 1.) Should governments have penalties for those who live unhealthy lifestyles? A list of unhealthy lifestyles would include things like smoking, drinking, illegal drugs, prostitution, and other “vice” type activities. I guess the “government penalties” would be referring to monetary punishments, withholding medical treatments (insurance companies would love that), possibly imposing/regulating very high (exorbitant) prices on things considered unhealthy in order to cut down on their use, and other possibilities. 2.) Or, would you say that living an unhealthy lifestyle, likely resulting in a LOT of eventual personal pain and suffering, should be punishment enough for unhealthy lifestyles? When people make bad choices in life, often in their youth where ignorance and immediate gratification takes them over,  3.)
