Omigosh, it's Friday the 13th!
So why is Friday the 13th supposed to be unlucky? The all-knowing Wikipedia says,
According to folklore historian Donald Dossey, the unlucky nature of the number "13" originated with a Norse myth about 12 gods having a dinner party in Valhalla. The trickster god Loki, who was not invited, arrived as the 13th guest, and arranged for Höðr to shoot Balder with a mistletoe-tipped arrow. "Balder died, and the whole Earth got dark. The whole Earth mourned. It was a bad, unlucky day."
So why Friday? Turns out that it's Tuesday in some cultures. Being provincial, I suspect they just can't read a calendar like us cultured folk do.
So, do you believe in the superstition? Do you shiver when a black cat crosses your path? Ever break a mirror? Share your secret fears! Share your paranoia! Heck, share a silly story. And remember to Thank God It's Friday!
But don't tell Loki. He's not invited.
