Philosophical Question #24 -- Responsibility
“Responsibility” is an interesting concept. Webster defines it like this:
Where does responsibility begin and end?
With the self?
With the person “of authority?” E.g.,:
Boss that mis-directed you?
Clergy who ill-advised you?
Only with a person who has achieved “adult status?”
Can one truly be responsible for another?
If someone is killing themselves and you simply watch and refuse to interfere, are you partially responsible for that death?
I’ll cut it off there. A lot to think about. Make your cases.
