News bit & history bits

News bit:
Rolling Stone reports that crackpot and human freak Marjory Taylor Greene is equating DJT with Jesus:  MTG Says Trump Is a ‘Convicted Felon’ Just Like Jesus -- "The man that I worship is also a convicted felon. And he was murdered on a Roman cross," the congresswoman said at a rally for the former president.

Q: Was Jesus a convicted felon?

A: No, Jesus was not a convicted felon. The sources provided do not support the claim that Jesus was convicted of any felony or crime. Here are the key points:
  • The Bible and historical records do not mention Jesus being convicted of any crime by Roman authorities.
  • He was arrested by the Romans on charges of treason, but was crucified without a formal trial or conviction according to the biblical accounts.
  • Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene made the inaccurate statement that "The man that I worship is also a convicted felon. And he was murdered on a Roman cross" in reference to Jesus. This is factually incorrect.
  • Greene was drawing a parallel between Jesus and former President Trump, who was recently convicted on 34 felony counts related to the Stormy Daniels hush money case. However, equating Jesus' arrest and crucifixion by the Romans to a modern felony conviction is an inaccurate and ahistorical comparison.
History bit 2:
Q: Was Hitler a convicted felon?

A: Adolf Hitler was never convicted as a felon. Here are the key points regarding Hitler's legal status:
  • In 1924, Hitler was arrested and put on trial for his role in the failed Beer Hall Putsch attempt to overthrow the German government in Munich.
  • He was convicted of treason and sentenced to 5 years in prison, but served only 9 months before being pardoned and released in December 1924.
  • While in prison, he dictated his infamous autobiography "Mein Kampf" to Rudolf Hess.
  • After coming to power in 1933, Hitler granted amnesty to himself and others involved in the Putsch.
  • In December 1944, the United Nations War Crimes Commission indicted Hitler as a war criminal for crimes committed by the Nazis during World War II, including murder, massacres, and systematic terrorism. However, Hitler died by suicide in April 1945 before he could be arrested, tried, and convicted on these charges.

Why is the Hitler bit important? Because of thinking like this from the peanut gallery:
Peanut 1: Hitler was a convicted felon just like Jesus.
Peanut 2: Shhh, Trump is going to get another bump in the polls if you point that out. People forget that Jesus often paid hush money to porn stars.
Peanut 3: Any real difference between Hitler's brownshirts and MAGA redcaps?
Peanut 4: Brown shirts were often veterans of the first world war (at least at first) and so were quite good at organized violence. The MAGA redcaps are a bunch of mountain dew soaked deadshits and sovereign citizens who can barely keep themselves from suffering heart attacks while trying to make it to their rallies. Still dangerous, but there's definitely a skills gap between them.
Peanut 5: We're gonna need an industrial strength crucifix for his fat ass.
Peanut 6: And smaller nails for those hands.
Peanut 7: There's gonna be Trump on a cross merch in no time. His ugly face on a Ramboesque body.
Peanut 8 (channeling Monty Python): “He’s not the Messiah! He’s a very naughty boy!”
