Philosophical Question # 21 – Causation

Let’s talk about causation:

  • Is there a cause for every event?

Can you think of even one event that didn’t have a cause? I honestly can’t, but I’m open to suggestions.  I’m talking about a verified (real world/this realm/hard evidence) event that had a provable (real world/this realm/hard evidence) cause?

  • And if every event has a cause, how can we say free will is real?  Isn’t that a non sequitur?  Explain that to me.
