Let’s talk about…

Marriage.

Lots and lots of questions:

  1. What does the institution of marriage mean to you?  Please go into detail. (i.e., no one-liners, s’il vous plait)
  2. What do you think is the best way/best place to find a potential marriage mate? (e.g., sports events, gym, bar, school, library, work, dating site, through relatives and friends, other)
  3. If you are married, where did you find your marriage mate?
  4. What is the right age for getting married?  Does it differ between men and woman?
  5. Do you/did you prefer to have your marriage sanctioned by a religious organization or is/was a civil ceremony your preference?
  6. What do you see as the most important element of a marriage? (e.g., mutual trust, like values, same goals in life, financial benefits, physical attraction, other)
  7. How soon after marriage can you know/be pretty sure that it was either a mistake or a blessing? (e.g., days, months, years, other)
  8. What do you think is the quickest thing to ruin a marriage? (e.g., money problems, kids, sex, inability to compromise, infidelity, family resentments, other)
  9. If you’ve had a ruined marriage, what ruined it? (e.g., money problems, kids, sex, inability to compromise, infidelity, family resentments, other)
  10. Do you think some people are meant to be together? (I.e., is true love possible?  If yes, what made/makes it possible?)
