3 Canadian cities ranked among world's top 10 most livable places

I have been to Toronto, and it used to be one of my favorite destinations for a quick visit, but that was back in the day when it had "character", now it's all skyscrapers, high-rises, bumper to bumper traffic, and lots of smog.

But somehow Toronto made the grade?  ๐Ÿ˜•

Three Canadian cities have made a list of the world’s top 10 most livable, though two slipped in the rankings from last year as other cities muscled their way to higher scores, according to a long-running ranking of 173 metropolises.

Vancouver scored highest out of the three Canadian cities, coming in fifth place, followed by Calgary in seventh and Toronto in the ninth spot, the report from the Economist Intelligence Unit’s (EIU) Global Liveability Index 2023, released on June 21, said.

Here are the top 10 cities:

1. Vienna, Austria

2. Copenhagen, Denmark

3. Melbourne, Australia

4. Sydney, Australia

5. Vancouver, Canada

6. Zurich, Switzerland

7. Calgary, Canada

8. Geneva, Switzerland

9. Toronto, Canada

10. Osaka, Japan; and Auckland, New Zealand

As an added note:

Honolulu, Hawaii’s biggest city was the highest US entry, coming in 25th place.

Fellow US cities San Diego, which ranked at 61 on the list, and Los Angeles, 57, both dropped 17 places.

YIKES!!

Now, YOUR turn, favorite cities (and/or least favorite)

In Canada, I prefer Montreal and Quebec City.

In the US, Canadians used to joke that Buffalo was he armpit of the world. Not nice. I do love Chicago (despite all the bad press it gets), Minneapolis, Asheville NC, Boston.
