STUNNING:

People are so used to posting on familiar channels, even with the channels closing in a few days, they still post OPs there, but hoping that eventually all those I have tagged and pestered will make their way over to THIS FORUM.

I know of several Disqus-like Forums that have opened, to draw crowds who are used to the setup and are familiar with the features, while other Forums are being set up that don't use Disqus as their platform.

I will stick with this for now, or till it becomes unpopular, as well as I intend to pop in on the other forums, even the non-Disqus ones.

Though I have proposed this forum for news and politics, I want anyone who visits to feel they can post any kind of OP except of course, no porn, no bigoted posts, nothing nasty.
IF you have a particular interest, such as our Meghan has in history, you can do your own daily, weekly, or occasion theme and be more than welcome.

I WILL BE looking for moderators, so please step up if you think you can devote the time and energy to help this forum flourish.

As for Authors, the only way you can author an OP is by providing me with an email address, so you might have to tag me on an older thread, but even if you post it here as soon as I see it I will copy it and delete it, and send you an email on how to be set up as an author.

A WORD ABOUT MY RULES:
I am not looking for an echo chamber, though I am a leftist myself, and many who will frequent here are as well, BUT I have had some stimulating conversations with folks of all political stripes. As long as there is no nastiness, trolling, or deliberate attempts to insult people, you should be ok.
IN FACT:
There are a few leftwing commenters from the old channels I have not invited here, and they would not be welcome, because they behave in ways I don't appreciate.

ABOUT PARTISAN HACKS:
I don't care if you love or hate Trump, or you are a strong Liberal or Conservative, DO NOT come on here calling people on the other side morons or n*zis or the like....
I DO expect that arguments will get heated and people will become hyperbolic, and sure, go at it, but refrain from insults, name-calling or demeaning comments.

ABOUT ACCEPTABLE SOURCES: don't try to be cute, we all know what acceptable sources are, hell - I would even accept stories from VOX or FOX, but not from extreme far left or far right sources nor conspiracy theory sites. https://mediabiasfactcheck.com/ is a good source.

I am also hoping for as many no-po threads as political ones as soon as more of you join on as authors.

Philosophical Question #14 – Lifestyle Choices

Here is an interesting question in my list of philosophical questions: 1.) Should governments have penalties for those who live unhealthy lifestyles? A list of unhealthy lifestyles would include things like smoking, drinking, illegal drugs, prostitution, and other “vice” type activities. I guess the “government penalties” would be referring to monetary punishments, withholding medical treatments (insurance companies would love that), possibly imposing/regulating very high (exorbitant) prices on things considered unhealthy in order to cut down on their use, and other possibilities. 2.) Or, would you say that living an unhealthy lifestyle, likely resulting in a LOT of eventual personal pain and suffering, should be punishment enough for unhealthy lifestyles? When people make bad choices in life, often in their youth where ignorance and immediate gratification takes them over,  3.)
