Did you know...........?
That President's Day was originally............
Until 1968, Washington’s Birthday had always been celebrated on February 22. It was tradition and a powerful reminder of the man who helped create what we have today in the United States.

On June 28, 1968, Congress passed the “Uniform Monday Holiday Act”. This law was to provide uniform annual observances of certain legal public holidays on Mondays.
While the name “Presidents’ Day” was proposed for this Monday holiday in 1951, the U.S. government never officially changed the name. In the 1980s, thanks to advertising campaigns for holiday sales, the term became popularized and largely accepted.

Didya also know that................
Presidents' Day in the United States and Family Day in Canada are both celebrated on the third Monday in February, though Family Day is not a federal holiday in Canada.
Family Day
- Celebrates the importance of family and family life
- Provides an opportunity for Canadians to reconnect with family
- Reflects Canada's values of family unity and social connection
- Is celebrated in many provinces across Canada
Where I live here in Ontario, I get a paid day off, as I am a city employee. Most government services, be they provincial or local, are closed. Retailers too.
But what has struck me most is this...........
Would YOU rather be celebrating Presidents or Family? I know which I would choose.
