WHAT did he just sing?

It's been, what, a month since people noticed the Rolling Stones' song Brown Sugar is about slavery.  I mean, duh, but most people never listened to the words, plain and simple.  There are a LOT of songs like that.  Changing times, changing mores, changing ages, and kids that won't get off your lawn, y'know?

So I was thinking  of really evil songs that used to be perfectly acceptable.  Stuff like

No, seriously.  Forget the goofy "Age of Aquarius" for a moment, and remember the central line from "Three Five Zero Zero."

"prisoners in N****r town / it's a dirty little war"

And that's not the half of it.  Another song from the album goes

I'm a colored spade
A n****r, a black n****r
A jungle bunny, Jigaboo coon
Pickaninny mau mau

Uncle Tom, Aunt Jemima
Little Black Sambo

Cotton pickin'
Swamp guinea
Junk man
Shoeshine boy

And if you didn't get the point, it's titled "Colored Spade."

This was the toast of Broadway.  It was also famous for having ten seconds of full frontal nudity.  Not sex, mind you.  Just all the actors standing in a row, showing off their junk.  My twin sister insisted on seeing it twice.

So share!  What stuff did you enjoy in your youth that you wouldn't expose your kids to?

AlextheKay, who doesn't get embarrassed easily.
