The dumbest thing I ever did

Many years ago, when I was young and stupid (okay, college years, you saw that coming right?), I joined a group of friends in motoring out to Kentucky's "High Bridge" for a night of stupidity.

High Bridge is well-named.  It's a railroad bridge over a river gorge. When it was built in the 19th century, it was the highest land bridge in the world.    It looks like this:

Forty-odd years ago, some friends and I thought, "Hey!  Wouldn't it be keen to climb out over the bridge and hang from one of the trestles?"

O, yes, keen.  Neat.  Spiffy.  Bloody stupid, is what it was!  Mind you, we still did it.

And we all lived to tell the tale!  Others were not so lucky.  From 2007:

Timmy Williams, 18, died after falling from a platform about 75 to 100 feet below the top of High Bridge, said Jessamine County Sheriff Kevin Corman. Williams landed on the ground below, falling perhaps an additional 150 to 200 feet.  (Whole story here)

So -- what's the dumbest thing you ever did?

(AlextheKay plans to tell all your friends)
