About Modesty

The linked article makes so much sense that I consider it worth sharing, despite the fact that it's by a Catholic, aimed at Catholic Christians, and despite the fact that I am a nudist at heart (don't get to practice much these days).

Lies I Tell Myself About Modesty makes a very reasonable case that body modesty, at least for women, is not about body shame, but rather about ensuring that you are looked at as a whole person, rather than being objectified as a sexual object.

While I disagree with "Some parts are so beautiful that they should remain veiled", which IMO is like saying that some works of art are so beautiful that they should be locked up out of sight, the rest seems to make sense in the context of western society.

To top it all off, the message is delivered with a bit of humor.
