More thoughts on retirement…

Cape Town, South Africa

Peter Taylor, our Cape Town, South Africa blogger wonders:

"I think retirement might be a lot easier for introverts than for extroverts. Introverts take their source of energizing with them into retirement (it's internal). Extroverts leave it behind and have to find new sources (it is external). I can see how that might be quite difficult. Introverts tend to get into personal projects on retirement while extroverts tend to join things or get part time, paid or voluntary, work.

There's an interesting research project in there somewhere :-)"

Q: What do you think?  Is retirement for introverts "psychologically easier" than for extroverts?  What do you base your answer on?  Do you have any personal experience with this?  If so, tell us the story(ies).
