Tradition!! 🕎 meh…

We here in the U.S., and probably worldwide, are now in what’s called the “holiday season.”  Yes, all hell is about to break loose:

  • Starts with massive airline chaos and other kinds of travel woes;
  • Thanksgiving political debates at the family feasting table, with the infamous green bean casseroles, canned cranberry sauce-“can rings” nicely intact, and arguments with your crazy uncles and in-laws;
  • Black Friday dog-eat-dog all-nighter store-hopping/shopping starting earlier and earlier each year, like noon Thanksgiving Day!  And, good luck getting a parking spot!;
  • Christmas credit card debt exploding, with eyes being bigger than the stomach card line of credit;
  • Next day, half-price, Xmas trinket/decorations buying frenzy, in prep for next year;
  • Long lines to return the “oops” wrong gift;
  • And finally, nursing our not so beloved New Year’s Day hangovers, while watching the Rose Parade and Bowl games. 😵‍💫

WHoo!! Yeah, that was some virtual fun… and then some.

Myself, I’m in my senior (“golden”) years now, and not a lot of family left, especially younger children in my life. So most, actually all, of these type celebrations are in my rear-view mirror. That’s fine. Even good (i.e., the pressure’s off, though, tbh, I never was big on any of it…bah humbug is how I roll). No regrets.

And, point of (author) privilege here, I’ll be around all season, if anyone needs to talk through any of the insanity. Just tag me @. 😊 I’ll be checking in daily.

Anyway, finally, here’s the OP question:

How do you foresee your “holiday season” going?  Play out how your imagined celebration scenarios (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s) will go. Good, bad, indifferent, other?  Is there something you are dreading more than any of the others?

Thanks for posting and favoriting.
