North Carolina Black girl is discouraged from going to school, as classmates made fun of her color, saying she looks like she was kept in the oven too long

An eleven year old girl is literally afraid to go to school. All of this is due to her classmates making fun of her over her skin color. The little girl attends Riverwood Middle School, in Clayton, North Carolina. This child had the misfortune of her classmates not appreciating her. Not only was she made fun of, she was made fearful of even going to school. As a result, the child and her mother have decided to speak out.

Dalaya Hooper and her mother, Dawnetta, have publicized what Dalaya went through. It turns out, she received a flood of texts from her classmates, making fun of her over her skin color. Instead of letting the situation get her down, Dalaya shared what was going on with her mother. Together, they decided to share these texts to Facebook in a post. Now, the post has over 8,600 shares.

Among the cruel insults made to Dalaya Hooper were bullies telling her to go back to Africa. In addition, the other kids were telling Ms. Hooper that she really is from Africa. Even worse than that, there were some of the children that told her she stayed in the oven too long. The oven comment was meant to imply that she was burnt.
