Thanksgiving American style

I came across these two pictures today.Well, I knew of the Rockwell  but the other is new to me and  might be a better depiction of a Thanksgiving dinner. It certainly puts the poor in their place; grateful for small mercies and content in their state.

These paintings compared tell us all sorts of things about the state of society, and not only in the US. The complacent comfortable class like the poor are always with us, and we still have the poor; grateful for small mercies.
