SUNDAY MUSINGS

Howdy to all our regular participants and occasional visitors.

 A reminder: We are not just about politics and all things Trump, so if anyone wants to post a thread about music, movies, personal observations: views on life, the universe and Snowflakes, go for it!

 However you do need to be set up as an author to do so, which reminds me:

 What happened to all you good folks that asked to be set up as authors when I started this forum? I have a nice loyal half dozen or so contributors but the rest of my authors have gone AWOL :(

 SO anyone who wants to author threads on here let me know I can still add you as an author.

 I also was thinking of doing more personal blogs, my know, things like: my observations on life, personal history, personal experiences and how they shaped who I am.

 One of our regulars on here used to - on the old Disqus - do threads on her experiences with fighting alcoholism, another posted threads about her life experiences, but alas, on here, personal stories have been absent, but would be welcome.

 I am, as always, open to suggestions on how to improve flow on here, though the flow for the most part is not bad.

 I have seen the other "Disqus offshoots" whether using the Disqus platform or a different platform and they are doing only modestly well, so the lack of familiarity or the lack of anything new has turned some people off. Plus, like American politics, people like their "camps" and tend to stay in one place. HELL - I am guilty of that myself, so I DO get it.

 SO in conclusion:

 We could use more non-political and non-Trump threads, so please step up if you are set up as author or let me know if you want to be added.

 And feel free to post any suggestions.

 AND have some fun today, this is also an open thread, so whatever musings you have, show them off (within our guidelines of course)

Philosophical Question #14 – Lifestyle Choices

Here is an interesting question in my list of philosophical questions: 1.) Should governments have penalties for those who live unhealthy lifestyles? A list of unhealthy lifestyles would include things like smoking, drinking, illegal drugs, prostitution, and other “vice” type activities. I guess the “government penalties” would be referring to monetary punishments, withholding medical treatments (insurance companies would love that), possibly imposing/regulating very high (exorbitant) prices on things considered unhealthy in order to cut down on their use, and other possibilities. 2.) Or, would you say that living an unhealthy lifestyle, likely resulting in a LOT of eventual personal pain and suffering, should be punishment enough for unhealthy lifestyles? When people make bad choices in life, often in their youth where ignorance and immediate gratification takes them over,  3.)
