Is it time to stop aiming for a "middle-class" standard of living?

Jonathan and Kim Cornford make their home in Victoria Province, Australia, and have deliberately structured their living habits so as to live comfortably on an income somewhere around the 20th percentile of Australian household incomes.  As long as Jonathan's piece is, I think we should give it a read.  Lifestyle changes will only cut greenhouse emissions by a maximum of 17%, but they should offer some real relief to people facing financial losses.
