I bought tickets to see Foreigner.
NO, not the illegal kind. The band!
Why? I was asked by my lady. Because I want to see them again, as I saw them once before, I think 99 years ago or so.
But why? She insisted on asking.
I understand the question. The last time I want to see a band from the 70s or 80s was an outdoor concert featuring Nazareth. All I heard was noise. Poor instrument playing. Overly loud amps. NO stage show.
At the time I decided that as much as I love those old bands, they are OLD now, don't have the voices any more, losing some of their energy, unable to jump around on the stage as in younger years.
Fans still cheer wildly though. I say stay home and put on a record of your favorite band and pour yourself a Jack Daniels and enjoy the music while it's listenable.
So, why did I buy tickets to Foreigner?
Because that is what people do, spend oodles of money on bands, or performers, whose time has come and gone.
I am sure some of YOU have done so time to time, amirite??
