The Silly Things That Shouldn’t Bother You, But Do.

Image
Nothing important, but it annoys or bothers you.   Used to enjoy the Bond films.  Then, it hit Bunny. James Bond is a crappy spy.  Everyone knows him, his number, and what he does.  Why would any bad guy let him anywhere near?   Her Majesty’s professional fix-it man?  Yes.  A secret agent?  Nope.     A silly thing to get bothered over.  Any for you? J.P. Bunny

Pastoral pea soup at a time of need

Image
This past Wednesda y, the Catholic Diocese of Fall River (Massachusetts)  announced the closing and merger of a number of its parish churches.  The Bishop, Edgar da Cunha, explained this community-disrupting move using language which all too many Catholic officials have borrowed from the universe of corporate big business, to wit:  “'Over the past year, I have worked closely with my cabinet, the Personnel Board, and diocesan leadership, seeking possible resources and exploring alternatives in assessing the future of our diocese,' the Bishop said.” The organization that carried the story, CatholicVote.org, added some more spiritual comfort to the mix:  "He acknowledged the challenges involved for those affected but emphasized the need to respond to current realities."  "The changes reflect both the city's evolving demographics and broader pressures facing diocese nationwide." This is why I can't go back to the Catholic Church, notwithstanding the b...

On a scale of 1-10...

... where "1" is not at all , and "10" is you can't budge me: On average, how stubborn are you? What are some things you are the most stubborn about? What are some things you are the least stubborn about? How often do you hover around the "5" area (you can take it or leave it). What are some things you can take or leave? (by PrimalSoup)

A sincere thank you...

War movies: Do you like any?

Today is the USA's Memorial Day, a big day for war movies and more of the same.  Which of all these films do you like?  Or do you prefer less bloody materials.

I'm so nosey...

Songs That Changed The Way You Think Or Do Things.

Image
As the title says.   Bunny enjoyed the song posted below.  Made him realize that there are two continents of Americans.  Now, when referring to the country, it is the U.S.  When referring to the people, Americans.  The people name too awkward. Any songs or music that have changed the way you think or do things? J.P. Bunny

The babies are almost ready to fly

Image
As we all know, the Bald Eagle cam at Big Bear Lake in California has been following for what I am told is the known, or believed to be, southern-most Bald Eagle babies in America for weeks. Now the little squirts are almost as big as their parents. Watching them grow has been fascinating. My God (and I have none), life is beautiful, no matter what any polluter, thug, liar, crackpot or grifter says to the contrary. Just click on the image and then click on full screen view. You'll see  what I am fighting for tooth and claw. I will never back down from what is right and moral. Never. Another “What are You?”

Nature magazine's award-winning 2025 research photos

Image
Researchers face insurmountable odds against corporate polluters, global warming deniers and corrupt political and corporate grifters, liars and traitors. But at least the out-gunned, out-manned and out-spent good guys are going down fighting for us and our environment to the bitter end. Here is some evidence of their last stands in their desperate defense of all of us: This photo is from a northern Norwegian fjord. The researcher's little boat is illuminated mostly by the yellow glow of a nearby fishing trawler with a swarm of sea gulls waiting for the nets of fish to come up. This dawn shot is of biologist Audun Rikardsen, taken by his PhD student Emma Vogel in November 2020. This is this 2025’s overall Scientist at Work photo competition winner. The photographer is Emma Vogel, an animal movement researcher and spatial ecologist who completed her PhD at the University of Tromsø — The Arctic University of Norway — in 2023.  Emma Vogel This is Ryan Wagner’s second winning Scientis...

Do you have one/some?

Fetish's.  When I think of that word, I think of something for which we have a freaky (abnormal) attraction to.  We've all heard of the "foot fetish."  Okee.  Whatever does it for yuz. Here's a definition I pulled from the web:  [Click or tap to enlarge] So, let's hear it.  What are you strangely attracted to?   Don't be shy.  We are all friends here.  Spill the dreaded beans. I don’t know how it could be done, but…

It’s Sunday in my neck of the woods.  How ‘bout a little religion talk? What/How/In what way do you think most Christians would respond if it was somehow objectively proven that there is no God of the Bible?  Do you see their reactions as: Going into a state of denialism, rejecting such objective truth Seeking out a different God (non-hardcore Bible related, possibly a metaphorical type God, i.e., One in name only [a GINO!]) Would they lose their sense of biblical ethics (ignoring many of their 10-Commandments (those not civil-laws related and for which they could be held accountable) Other possible reactions Think about it. What type are you?

Are you mostly a person who likes to have all your ducks in a row, loose ends tied up, affairs in order? Or, are you mostly a person who throws caution to the wind and basically “wings it,” come what may? (by PrimalSoup)

Childhood Habits Now Ingrained In Your DNA.

Image
Not the usual habits of saying please and thank you, but the little habits you never realized you had.  When Bunny goes into a store or residence, he always has his hands behind his back.  Never thought about it, just something that was always done.   Some time ago, Granny said that Maternal Unit told Bunny to do that from an early age.  “If it isn’t yours, don’t touch it.”    The origin of a not important habit solved. Any now ingrained habits that you were given? J.P. Bunny

Can a little suffering be good for us (U.S.)?

Image
Do you think the likely upcoming shortage of Chinese goods will be an excellent wake-up call for us spoiled Americans?   We are used to cheap goods basically made with cheap, often child labor.  Now such goods will be less plentiful and more expensive.  What does this portend for your Xmas? Good ideas...

Image
Things you should get in the habit of doing because, well, they are just good ideas.  I'll get us started: Chew your food at least 25 times before swallowing. Slow down when driving through an intersection, glancing both ways... just in case. Try to practice mindfulness. Eat, drink, and otherwise do things in moderation. [your suggestions here] Help build on this list.  Feel free to challenge any ideas you disagree with and make your case(s) why. (by PrimalSoup)

AI And History.

Image
Bunny is watching a WWII documentary, in which all of the footage has been colorized.  Looks very good, but also strange.  WWII, Lincoln, FDR, have always been in black and white.  Bunny half & half about this.  On one hand, it is what the photographer / cameraman actually saw.  On the other, it is changing the historical image. You Tube has one of the last photos of Lincoln.  It then slowly turns to color, he smiles, and puts on his glasses. What do you think of playing with historical images? J.P. Bunny

Laugh Out Loud Authors / Writers

Image
The title says it all.  Writers / authors that will make you laugh out loud.  For Bunny, Carl Hiaasan….absurd Florida stories, and Dave Barry. Who does it for you? J.P. Bunny

A fun trip through a little chunk of the universe

Image
DESI, the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument, has mapped ~30% of the space in the universe and ~80% of time in that space, about 11 billion years. AI converted some of the data into this 3:25 video showing galaxies in a small part of the mapped universe passing by as one travels through space-time. Humans alone cannot piece the data together into a video like this. It's a rather cool little trip, I think.  The DESI project is in its fourth year. The goal is to measure light from about 50 million galaxies and quasars by the end of its five-year mission. That would significantly expand its current map. As more data are collected and released, DESI’s 3D map will cover a larger portion of the sky and include more cosmic objects, further increasing its reach and scientific value. I sincerely hope that MAGA thugs don't cut funding for DESI. They can try, but maybe that would be illegal. It would need to be fought out in federal courts. SciAm posted this video at this lin...

Like Catnip To You.

Image
You shouldn’t eat it.  Health, diet, full stomach, whatever.  `Tis a no-no, but you can’t resist.  It is calling to you.  For Bunny, Mounds Bars or fresh brownies.  Damn the torpedoes, they must be eaten. Any such for you?

NOW, what's he got?

As most of my friends know , my body hit its Sell-By Date over 20 years ago, when I was diagnosed with stomach cancer. Survived that. Since, then, I’ve been blessed with diabetes, congestive heart failure, a brain tumor, a couple of gastric bleeds, u.s.w . Seems that the latest on the hit parade is a form of blood cancer, called polycythemia averr. But it was caught early, and I can live another 20 years, if I make sure it’s treated properly. Be sure to check back in two decades from now, to hear my latest adventures! Now, share your own, for everyone's enjoyment! AlextheKay takes a shitload of pills every day

Stupid Chores That You have Come To Enjoy.

Image
Mrs. Bunny would always sweep the streets of leaves  in front of our house on the corner.  Told her don’t bother, they will blow away.  Every morning.   Now, Bunny not working and thought it good to do that, rather than just sinking into to sofa.      Bunny enjoys doing it now.  The curbs and base of the walls are clean.  Also cleaning the leaves and old bird seed from the small garden.  A small bit of satisfaction and job well done. Any such for thou? J.P. Bunny
