What life could be

By Best in Moderation

We're all feeling it, I think.

The pressure, the depression, the dread, whatever you want to call it. It's immersive, it's overwhelming at times, and it seems to never truly leave our side.

No matter where we are, what we experience and what goes on directly around us, we seem to be stuck in this black hole of everything that could go wrong is going wrong, and there is little people seem to be able to do to turn things back around.

I left for a weekend away with my wife with this feeling very much in abundance. I did my best to ignore it and enjoy the time away, but it wasn't working all that well as every topic tended to veer back to the horrifying experience so many were having at this time. Life in general seemed very bleak.

And then I took a walk.

Turns out, people are out there right now still living life. They play, they laugh, they tease and run and chat and wander and shop and smile.

Sometimes it's just the little things, like enjoying a day at the park.

Other times, it's going to a market and seeing your neighbors and townsfolk.

Maybe it's taking your kids or grandkids out to a kid park or museum.

Or a live performance or musical set in the late afternoon.

Whatever it is, people are trying to recapture the joys of life, and many people are trying to help others recapture it safely.

I want all of you to know that there is still just as much to love and cherish today as there was a year ago. It might seem ugly. It might seem impossible to overcome and move forward. It might even seem like you're the only one who wants life to be kind, happy and joyful for all.

But you're not alone. You're not powerless. Your life is not empty or incapable of being filled with joyful experiences. The world is still here, waiting for you to come back to it and see it for the endless possibilities it will and can provide.

It's now up to us to choose how the future is shaped.

I hope you choose what life could be wisely.
